In today’s rapidly changing and competitive organizational environment, particularly within the tourism industry, employees face constant challenges that require adaptability and proactive career management. Career adaptability has emerged as a critical factor influencing employees’ ability to respond effectively to changes, maintain motivation, and sustain high levels of performance. One outcome that reflects this adaptability is work engagement, which is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption in work tasks. This study aims to examine the relationship between career adaptability and work engagement among employees at PT X. A total of 120 employees participated in the research, and data were collected using the Career Adaptability Scale and the Work Engagement Scale, both adapted to the organizational context. The collected data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results revealed a strong and significant positive correlation (r = 0.880, p = 0.000, p < 0.05) between career adaptability and work engagement. These findings indicate that employees with higher levels of career adaptability tend to demonstrate greater enthusiasm, commitment, and involvement in their work, reflecting higher work engagement. Conversely, lower career adaptability is associated with decreased engagement and motivation in the workplace. This study confirms that enhancing employees’ career adaptability is a strategic approach to fostering sustainable work engagement, which is vital for organizational success, especially in dynamic sectors like tourism.
