Strategi Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan Islam di Pesantren, Madrasah dan Sekolah Islam: Analisis Kurikulum dan Metode Pembelajaran

Abstract

Islamic education has a very important role in human life. Its purpose is to educate students to become people who are faithful, pious, and have good morals. To ensure that Islamic religious education in schools runs well, the right methods and approaches must be used. Curriculum and learning methods are two aspects that always exist and coexist in the world of education and the teaching and learning process in Indonesia. The success and achievement of students in the learning process at school is strongly supported by a systematic curriculum and appropriate learning methods offered by an educational institution. This paper aims to describe and analyze the curriculum and learning methods applied in three senior high school Islamic educational institutions in South Tangerang City. The three educational institutions, namely Islamic schools, madrasas and pesantren, have different curriculum patterns and learning methods, even though these three types of educational institutions are based on Islam in the implementation of their education. Using qualitative approach, this paper presents a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of implementing the curriculum and its learning methods. This research proved that each school has almost the same curriculum because it is affiliated with the same ministry. However, each school has different local content which is the school's strength and superiority which depends on the vision and mission, type and policies of the school leadership. The conclusion of the study shows that pesantren and madrasas can become superior schools and are able to compete with Islamic public schools that already have a reputation, even though it those educational institution often seen as a school that is less popular with the community.
